Our SI models, like any grills made from cold-rolled steel, are prone to rusting, especially in areas exposed to the highest heat, such as the firebox. This issue is more common in regions with high humidity.
Due to the nature of this material, the BBQ may develop:
- Surface rust (oxidation)
- Heat discoloration
- Patina over time
These are natural and expected characteristics, not defects, and do not affect the performance or structural integrity of the grill.
To help preserve the grill, we recommend periodically sanding affected areas with fine sandpaper and applying a high-temperature, rust-preventive paint.
Please note:
Surface rust, oxidation, discoloration from heat, and normal wear are not covered under warranty, as they are inherent to the material and use conditions.
FAQs
What is the difference between direct and indirect heat on a charcoal grill?
Direct heat means food is placed over the embers. Indirect heat means food is placed away from the main heat source so it cooks more slowly. Argentine-style grilling often uses both methods depending on the cut, thickness, and desired texture.
What safety steps matter most when cooking with wood or charcoal?
Use the grill outdoors only, keep children and pets away, avoid flammable liquids near hot coals, and never leave the grill unattended while lit. Hot coals and ashes should be handled only after they are fully extinguished and cooled.
